Freedom Manifesto: Live. Your. Dreams.
When I was a kid there was a challenge by Apple. You were supposed to send in your answer to the question: What is power? I think that must have been the question as this was likely in the year 1994 when Apple brought the PowerPC processor into the world. It was also the year when I graduated from Gymnasium (German high school: you graduate after 13 years of school around the age of 19).
My answer was something like this: Power is a combination of will, means, and courage to go beyond what your parents can’t even imagine. I didn’t win the new Power Mac but at least I got a Sweat Shirt!
This is what I want to bring to the world: I want to set an example that anything is possible. That it is not a profusion to go for your dreams and to follow one’s heart, but an enrichment to yourself and to the world. There is a reason why we have dreams and that reason is not because we haven’t learned to settle for less, but because our dreams are connected to the gifts we are here to bring to the world.
Freedom is possible: to grow beyond limitations and to find an even more authentic expression of yourself beyond the boundaries of your past. Exploring this kind of freedom and supporting others in their exploration (if they choose to) is my main job from now on. And I’m eager to go to work!
